About the author
Peter is a personal and professional development junkie and runs Peak Performance, a boutique consultancy helping organisations to transform through technology and process enabled change.
Originally a nuclear physicist with the UK Atomic Energy Authority, he went on to become head of process chemistry with British Nuclear Fuels. During part-privatisation of the utility sector, Peter was extensively trained in consultancy and TQM to help the organisation re-engineer itself and transform into a competitive international company. It was an easy progression from his scientific background to become international technology transfer officer, where he chaired technical committees for the OECD and IAEA. Around 1995, Peter embraced project management, and completed his MBA dissertation on best practice for project management of technology in 1998. Subsequently he has held a number of programme director and interim director roles and delivered large and complex projects in a number of sectors including: nuclear, chemical, financial services, local government, new product development, Merger and Acquisitions (M&A), Public Private Partnerships (PPPs), and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Peter is active in several professional bodies, including: Fellow of the Association for Project Management and chairman of the London branch, Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultancy, Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Member of the British Computer Society, and Member of the Institute of Directors.
Peter is the author of 10 patents and over 20 papers ranging from pure science and engineering to management of technology on a global scale.
Peter represented Her Majesty’s Government with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development for nuclear technology, chaired technical meeting at the International Atomic Energy Agency, and authored chapters in texts on the nuclear fuel cycle for both organisations.
