We choose our friends, but we seldom choose our boss. And our boss has a huge effect on how much we enjoy our work… or not.
However we get on with our boss, there is always room for improving the relationship, and in my opinion, it is always worth the effort to do so.
People are different. This sounds obvious, and yet we very often treat people as though they think and feel the same as us… and they don’t.
We might be more task focussed, and our boss may be more people focussed. We may be more extrovert, and our boss is more introvert. People look different on the outside, and they are just as different on the inside.
