What Makes Us Different

As our name suggests, there’s a little bit of magic in what we do and that’s because we do things differently. We are focused on people’s capabilities, unlocking potential, increasing performance and generating outputs.


It’s often said it’s money that makes the world go round. But that’s simply not true. It’s people. Your organisation’s biggest asset is the people you select to work for you and with you to take your vision forward, whatever that might be.

But in order to achieve this, people in the workplace need to be able do the job that is in front of them when they need to do it. And improving people’s capability, and therefore their performance, is what we are all about.


Alchemy is a word that describes both a philosophy, and the ancient practice of seeking to transmute base metals into gold, to create an elixir that would cure all disease, and to achieve ultimate wisdom. It enabled the spiritual and intellectual development of the Alchemist from ignorance to enlightenment.

In recent times it has come to be associated with magic. And whilst we’re too modest to say that we perform miracles, we certainly make positive changes happen for the organisations and people that we work with.

The name People Alchemy combines our focus on enabling positive change in people and for over 15 years, our philosophy has retained this focus. Central to our beliefs is that everything we do has to work in practice, and we apply this thoroughly pragmatic approach to our products and services.

The focus of our ‘Enabling Capability’ approach began with managers because they are a very big leverage point for helping the world become a better place. The quality of management has a huge impact on the quality of the lives of those who are being managed, and those whom they serve. If you improve the way people are managed by even a small percentage, so many people win.

But now the workplace is changing with many hierarchies becoming flatter. And we have seen the impact of what we do transform all employees within an organisation, not just managers. L&D is also going through significant change and the role of the learning professional is beginning to look markedly different. We embrace these shifts and are here to help you do the same.
